Meet The Artist: Carolyn Teague
The artist is Carolyn Teague, a native of Haw River, who has resided in Burlington since 1971. She retired in 2000 from the Social Security Administration. Painting has been a major hobby of hers for many years. Watercolor is her primary choice when it comes to fine art. As she experimented with different mediums, she developed a realistic impressionistic style of her own that she adapts to watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Carolyn's favorite subjects are flowers many of which she grows in her own flowerbeds. In addition to flowers she enjoys painting still life arrangements paying close attention to light and form. In addition to the fine arts, all types of crafts and sewing intrigue her. You will find her delicate paintings adorning a variety of objects and surfaces; paper, canvass, candles, glass, tin, wood, slate, and rocks. Art and craft enthusiasts across the states and around the world treasure Carolyn's work. She has taught painting and craft classes privately and through organizations. As a charter member of the Burlington Artists League she has served as vice president, secretary, and numerous committee chairperson positions.
